Who are RSVP volunteers?  Anyone 55 years of age and older willing to serve and make a difference in the communities of Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, and Santa Cruz counties.

What benefits does RSVP offer to volunteers? Volunteers receive supplemental accident and liability insurance coverage while on duty, mileage and meal reimbursement when needed, a recognition of your contribution to the community as well as the reward of helping others.

Why do RSVP volunteers get involved? Some people feel a lack of productivity when they no longer have a regular work site or schedule.  RSVP helps seniors stay active and involved. Volunteers join a large service network, learning new skills or using the knowledge they've developed over a lifetime.  Many RSVP volunteers have lived in their communities for a long time. Because the community has given them so much, they see serving as a way to give something back. RSVP volunteers discover that when they give, they gain a lot too.  Studies show that seniors who volunteer live long, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

What types of agencies need RSVP volunteers? As a RSVP volunteer, you might mentor at-risk youth, assist in schools, help at food banks, senior centers, museums, chamber of commerce's, community centers, literacy centers, police and fire departments, hospices, health clinics, nursing homes, disaster relief agencies, and many other community-based non-profit organizations.

Senior Corps taps the skills, talents, and experience of more than half a million Americans age 55 and older to meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other areas. Senior Corps is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, which also oversees AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve America.
