News and Announcements The Senior Companion Program holds a benefit concert and raffle in the Sioux Falls area every April. The concert includes great entertainment, refreshments and a raffle prize drawing. The raffle prizes include a handmade queen size quilt, numerous gift certificates to Sioux Falls businesses, gift baskets and items of interest for seniors. In the last few years we have had approximately 100 participants enjoy the event and win the many prizes. The Black Hills Program has an annual quilt raffle as a fundraiser. Annually, we submit our Senior Companion candidates to local volunteer award programs to be recognized locally for their community contributions provided to the elderly and disabled. Often our volunteers do win awards, due to their length of service and the many hours of service they accumulated in their volunteer life. Our Senior Companions are vibrant, involved people who enjoy their volunteer experience even if this is their first opportunity to volunteer in their lives. We recently expanded our services into the Howard, Pierre and Ft Pierre areas and also plan to offer services in the Wagner, Lake Andes and Marty areas in the near future. We have provided service in 22 counties in South Dakota and are very open to providing our services to other areas of the state as the need arises
