  Intergenerational Oral History Project

An exciting project has been launched in June.  High School students are interviewing senior citizens, gaining historically interesting information regarding life experiences, historical periods in seniors’ lives such as WW II and The Great Depression, secrets to successful living, stories about family living in their generation, anecdotes about growing up in their own native regions, and folklore about living in Florida before our population boom. This information will be documented in a written report for each interviewee, and will possibly include video and audio clips, and photos of them. Final material will be archived at the Seminole County Public Schools’ Student Museum in Sanford. Video, photo and audio support will be enhanced by Seminole Community College and various Public School TV Production Departments. If you are interested in this history enriching collaborative project either as a volunteer or as an interviewee, please call Nancy at 407 323-4440 x 2.
