Navajo Foster Grandparent Program helps Navajo elders to keep active through community volunteer service and intergenerational contact/activities.

Where:  More than 200 elders serve at Navajo Head Start Centers, schools and day care centers on the Navajo Nation.

What:  They help with tutoring and mentoring and basic care of infants and pre-school kids,  and where applicable, elders are helping to preserve Navajo language and culture through the school immersion programs.

Five Navajo FGP programs are located at the Navajo Area Agency on Aging offices.  You can go to any of the agency offices to inquire, enroll or for information.  Ask for the FGP Staff listed below.
