The RSVP program for Pinal and Gila Counties offers a variety of volunteer opportunities with 60 RSVP volunteer sites and over 500 active RSVP volunteers serving

1. Last year (2002) RSVP volunteers saved Pinal and Gila Counties over 1.6 million dollars in time served (at the national estimated hourly rate of $15.64 an hour if volunteers were paid)
2. The only requirement to become an RSVP volunteers is 55 years or older to serve.
3. RSVP volunteers can receive a mileage rate of .15 cents a mile (travel from home to volunteer site and return)
4. RSVP can match volunteer to their desired site
5. RSVP volunteers are recognized by state, County, and local officials
6. RSVP volunteers projects often become models for the rest of the nation (HomeAlone-SafeAlone Project)
