Homeland Security Volunteer Team (ESF 15)

Volunteers play a vital part in disaster preparedness and relief. Working with other emergency operation management entities in Citrus County, Nature Coast Volunteer Center assumes responsibility for the recruitment, training and management of volunteers prior to and following catastrophic events.

Formation of a Homeland Security Volunteer team provides structure for contacting, gathering, and assigning volunteers to assist with inventory and distribution of good including food and blankets in the event of a disaster. A listing of citizens' resources such as boats, generators, chainsaws, and other items strengthens this effort to meet basic community needs.
